Kids‘n’Castles is an initiative by the Mid-Antrim Heritage Partnership between Antrim & Newtownabbey and Mid & East Antrim Borough Councils in Northern Ireland. The app aims to actively engage families with the rich heritage of two of Co. Antrim's historic sites - Carrickfergus's town walls, once connected to the iconic castle, and the atmospheric Antrim Castle Gardens. The app is designed to be accessible to children of 7+. The content and activities should interface neatly with many aspects of the National Curriculum for Key Stage Two; older children should also benefit from the reinforcement of material often covered in the early years of secondary school.
